Located in Dallah Tower, Fab Lab Arabia is the perfect place for individuals seeking the space and tools to work on their projects. Fab Lab has a great variety of tools that you can use, whether you’re an artist, product designer, or just enjoy building things with your own hands. You can even use their wireless internet for free if you’re just looking for a place to get away.
Managing Fab Labs around the MENA region is industrial designer Mohammed Tayeb, who was very excited to show us around. “There are over 100 Fab Labs around the world, all under MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology),” he began. “You can use everything for FREE. We just want to give back to the community.”
Fab Lab is open Saturday to Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. , and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays.
For anyone interested in making Fab Lab a working environment, you need to take part of the induction which is usually Saturday or Thursday. There are 5 enthusiastic ”Fab Labbers” (the term is actually used) that will help you learn how to use the machines and help you make your idea a reality.

Modella: printing circuit boards, 3D scanning, cutting and engraving on wax (They also have a locker full of circuit components)
There is a MIT certified course that runs from Jan to May and takes place every wednesday. The course is “How to Make Almost Everything”, and if you would like to know more about it, feel free to contact Mohammed Tayeb at info@fablabarabia.com .
There are a couple of rules that Fab Labbers must follow:
- No slippers. Only shoes.
- No abayas because they get caught in the machines
Please help raise awareness about this brilliant geeky heaven!

Thanks for the pictures, Soraya! Now show us what’s being made or imagined!
